DefExpo 2020: In A First, Lucknow To Host Biennial Expo Showcasing India’s Defence Manufacturing Capabilities

Lucknow will host the 11th edition of DefExpo India between 5 February and 8 February 2020, and become the first time for the capital of Uttar Pradesh to host the biennial event, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) revealed in a press release.
The theme of the DefExpo India- 2020 is ‘India: The Emergence Defence Manufacturing Hub’, and will also have a focus on ‘Digital Transformation of Defence’. The expo is offering an opportunity for the Indian Defence industry to showcase its capabilities and promote India’s export potential.
The international level-expo facilitates Business-to-Business (B2B) interaction with senior foreign delegations, Government-to-Government (G2G) meetings and signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
Further, the expo will highlight the emergence of UP as a potential destination for investment in the defence sector, while acting as a platform for alliances and joint ventures in the defence industry.
The DefExpo will provide an opportunity to the major foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to collaborate with the Indian defence industry and help promote ‘Make in India’ initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The exhibition provides a platform for Defence industry OEMs, exhibitors and private industry to display the latest innovations and capabilities. Various ministerial-level delegates from foreign, visitors for all over the nation are expected to witness India’s emergence as a major manufacturing hub.
