Delhi: Mob Attacks Police With Lathis, Stones Inside Inderlok Chowki; Three Arrested

In a shocking incident, a violent mob attacked a police chowki with lathis and stones in North Delhi’s Inderlok, reports Indian Express.
A police officer and a few other were injured in the incident. According to the report, the accused also opened fire at a cop, who managed to escape unhurt.
The incident took place on Wednesday night when the accused barged into the police station to see three of their aides who were detained by the police for looting a bakery in the area.

A person named Akhlaq, who runs a bakery in Inderlok was harassed by the shop owner’s son Sadkeen and his brothers on Wednesday night. According to Akhlaq, Sadkeen and his aides had some food but were not ready to pay. When Akhlaq refused to give him the food, the group looted the shop and thrashed the shopkeeper.
Akhlaq later filed a report about the incident in the police station.
Monika Bharadwaj, DCP (North), said, “ We received a complaint from Akhlaq about the incident at 10 pm. The police then brought the accused men for questioning. At the police post, the accused fought with the police personnel. They were detained. After some time, a few men entered the chowki and started pelting stones and thrashing policemen with batons. One of them fired bullets too.”
The CCTV footage shows a mob coming to the police station with sticks, batons. One of the accused also opened fire. DCP Bharadwaj also said that Sub-Inspector Pankaj also fired two bullets in air for self-defence.
The police have nabbed three accused, Sadkeen, Ashkeen and Shahrukh, while search is on for the remaining assailants.
