Soon after completing his 17-hour long meditation, followed by morning prayers in Kedarnath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the Election Commission (EC) saying, "I'm grateful to the EC for giving me two-day time to spend in solitude," reports Zee News.

Saying that he never asked for anything from God while praying, the PM said, "I'm in Kedarnath since Saturday. I got some time for myself after a long period. I believe God has made us all capable of contributing to society and not asking."

Soon after completing his busy schedule of election campaigns, Modi has come on a two-day visit to Kedarnath and Badrinath. Modi, who is personally monitoring the restoration and development programmes of Kedarnath, took stock of various construction activities here.

After the meditation, PM walked back to the temple amidst the misty mountains to perform a morning prayer. Waving at the locals gathered around, Modi urged them to chant 'Har Har Mahadev'. This is Modi's fourth visit to the shrine in the last two years.

Modi will now fly to Badrinath and take an evening flight to Delhi from there.

The poll body, while giving its nod to PM's visit to Kedarnath and Badrinath, reminded him that the "model code of conduct is still in force," as the seventh phase of election was yet to finish.
