Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) members ganged up and created a ruckus and prevented the police from arresting two DMK Youth Wing functionaries who molested a woman police constable. She was on security duty for a DMK event held in Chennai on Sunday.
The accused had tried to flee but an inspector nabbed had nabbed them. However, when the police was trying to take them to the police station, DMK workers surrounded them and created a ruckus, forcing the police to let them go.
The meeting was addressed by Kanimozhi, who is the deputy general secretary of the party.
Saying that the incident shows the sorry state of governance in Tamil Nadu, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai urged Chief Minister MK Stalin to take immediate action and get his party workers arrested.
