Explosions In Egypt’s Coptic Churches On Palm Sunday; ISIS Says ‘We Did It’

Tragedy hit the Coptic Christian minority of Egypt on Palm Sunday. In two separate incidents, bombs ripped through their churches killing 36 people. The first explosion happened in a church north of Cairo, the second happened in Alexandria.
According to this report, ISIS has claimed responsibility for both the explosions.
Many Christian communities mark the Sunday before Easter as Palm Sunday. One such community is of the Coptic Christians in Egypt. The Copts form about 10 per cent of the population of the Egypt which is largely Sunni Muslim.
Over the years, the Copts have been targets of violence by the Islamists within Egypt.
