Even though the Congress party has not yet opened its account as the vote counting is underway for the Delhi assembly elections, it seems to be finding its happiness in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s defeat.
Congress Lok Sabha floor leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, while speaking to new agency ANI, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)‘s victory against the BJP and “its communal agenda” was “significant.
“Everyone knew that Aam Aadmi Party will return to power for the third time. Congress's defeat will not send a good message. The victory of AAP against the Bharatiya Janata Party & its communal agenda is significant,” said Chowdhury.
The AAP is heading towards a comfortable majority in the state with lead on 56 constituencies. The BJP was leading on 14 seats at the time of publishing the report.
The Congress has not yet managed to gain lead in any assembly constituency in the national capital.
The counting of votes for 70 assembly seats is still underway.
