Ganga Maa And Kedar Baba Off To Their Winter Abodes, Temples To Close Their Gates on 8 and 9 November

The gates of Gangotri Temple and Kedarnath Temple will be closed for winter on 8 and 9 November respectively. A large number of devotees are expected to be present at the grand gate-closing ceremony, Jagaran has reported.
The portals of Gangotri Temple will close at 12.30 pm on 8 November.
The Secretary of Gangotri Temple Committee Suresh Semwal told the paper that after the traditional pooja, the Utsav Doli of the goddess will be taken out of the temple to her winter abode Mukhimath (Mukhwa) where devotees can visit the goddess during the winter season.
The gates of Kedarnath Temple will be closed at 8.30 pm on 9 November on the occasion of Bhaiyadooj. The Utsav Doli of Shri Kedarnath, after the rituals and traditional pooja, will be taken to his winter abode Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath where devotees can visit Kedar baba during the winter season.
The official announcement of the closing of the gates of Badrinath Temple will be made on 19 October on the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra).
