Global Covid-19 Cases Cross 50 Lakh Mark, Death Toll Surges To Over 3.28 Lakh

The global confirmed cases of Coronavirus infections have increased to over 50 lakh while the death toll due to the deadly virus, which originated in China’s Wuhan city, has surged to more than 3.28 lakh.
The global tally of Covid-19 patients has risen to 5,000,038 on Thursday (21 May), with the death toll rising to 328,172, according to the latest data from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at John Hopkins University.
As many as 1,899,350 people have recovered from the disease, the CSSE data showed.
The United States has reported 1,551,853 Covid-19 positive cases, the highest in the world, followed by 308,705 infections in Russia, 291,579 in Brazil, 249,619 in the United Kingdom, 232,555 in Spain and 227,364 in Italy.
The US has also recorded the highest number of deaths due to the Coronavirus, with as many 93,439 fatalities reported in the country so far. The UK has the second-highest death toll with 35,786 deaths, followed by Italy’s 32,330 fatalities.
