The global Coronavirus cases have increased to over 48 lakh, while the death toll due to the deadly virus has risen to more than 3.18 lakh, according to the data from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at John Hopkins University.

The total number of Covid-19 cases across the globe has surged to 4,806,299, while the death toll increased to 318,599, the CSSE data showed.

As many as 1,788,108 people have also recovered from the disease so far, according to the CSSE.

The United States has reported 1,508,957 Covid-19 cases, the highest in the world, followed by 290,678 infections in Russia, 255,368 in Brazil, 247,709 in the United Kingdom, 231,606 in Spain, and 225,886 in Italy.

The US has also recorded the highest number of deaths due to the Coronavirus, with as many 90,369 fatalities reported in the country so far. The UK has the second-highest death toll with 34,876 deaths, followed by 32,007 fatalities in Italy, according to the CSSE data.
