Coming as a matter of great pride for Indian Army, students from its Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated Goodwill schools run in the state of Jammu and Kashmir have registered a 100 per cent pass result in the Class X board examinations, reports Indiatimes.

The Northern Command of the Indian Army runs 43 such Goodwill schools in Jammu and Kashmir, of which three are affiliated to the CBSE. Among the students from these schools, Hittam Ayoub from Rajouri district has topped with 94.2 per cent.

The Northern Command of the Indian Army had started the initiative of running such Goodwill schools in far flung areas in 1998 with just four schools under Project Sadbhavana. Under the project, the Indian Army today provides education to nearly 15,000 students in the state while employing around 1,000 teaching and non-teaching staff.

These Goodwill schools are equipped with modern teaching aids, such as digital classrooms, modern labs, well-stocked libraries and excellent sports infrastructure aimed at positively contributing to the growth of Jammu and Kashmir and its residents.
