The ancient city of Kurukshetra in the State of Haryana is set to get a grand Bharat Mata temple which shall serve as a key cultural centre for the citizens of the nation and the unity amongst them, reports News18.

The announcement about the building of an iconic temple of Bharat Mata was made by Chief Minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar at the ongoing International Gita Mahotsav who also revealed that the temple would come up on a massive land spanning over five acres of area.

Khattar shared that the step was aimed at turning Kurukshetra into a major cultural and religious tourism destination with adequate infrastructure to provide all needed facilities to the visiting pilgrims.

Highlighting that as many as 40 lakh people visited the city of Kurukshetra during last year's International Gita Mahotsav, CM Khattar explained his rationale behind his attention on building Kurukshetra's infrastructure and stressed that the development of infrastructure would lead to further increase in the number of tourists and pilgrims visiting the city.
