The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has unveiled an ambitious plan to construct a temple for Lord Venkateswara Swamy over a 25-acre plot in the proposed Andhra Pradesh (A.P) capital Amravati.
The Hans India has reported that a team of TTD officials presented plans for the new temple to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu which would conform with the Agama and Vastu Sastras. The design of the temple is said to be along the lines of the Tirumala temple.
Under the Agama and Vastu Sastras, the various parts of the temple are said to be symbolic representations of the limbs of god either in a sitting or standing posture. It is understood that the Naidu while calling for the provision of modern amenities suggested that the same be provided outside the temple in a bid to protect the sanctity of the proposed temple.
Officials have stated that the design for the proposed temple would incorporate the best traditions of Pallava, Chola, Chalukya and Vijayanagara architectures. The most notable works of the above schools of architecture are spread out across the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, and it is expected that the proposed temple by amalgamating their styles would be a marvel in itself.
