In a major development, Haryana government has begun a pilot project to digitise the land records in the Manesar tehsil of Gurugram and Sirsi village of Karnal under the Centre's Digital India Land Record Modernisation Programme, reports Economic Times.
Under the pilot project, the administration would assign a unique land parcel identification (ID) number to every plot to facilitate its identification unique and unambiguous manner.
The objective of the project is to create an online land information system with open standards of APIs (Application Programming Interface). The system will also enable other stakeholders to use it to generate further value.
The system will provide information on land and properties, and also help cross-validate land records related data across various departments and agencies of the government. It would enable the standardisation of data and application level, bringing in effective integration and interoperability across departments.
Upon the successful implementation of the pilot project, the state government, based on its preparedness level, can approach the National Informatics Centre and other relevant agencies to roll out the system.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
