Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday (19 November) flagged off Delhi Metro’s Violet Line connecting Escorts Mujesar to Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabgarh). After Gurugram, Faridabad and Bahaudargarh, Ballabgarh is now the fourth Haryana city under the Delhi Metro’s umbrella, reports Press Trust of India.
Ballabgarh- an industrial city- is an upcoming urban settlement. A large number of people travel to and fro Delhi and Ballabgarh for their professional needs.
The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety- S K Pathak, had on Saturday (17 November) given the green signal for passenger operations on this Violet line corridor. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said the section would be an extension of the Kashmiri Gate-Escorts Mujesar Violet Line.
The Ballabgarh Railway station will now be integrated with the new the Raja Nahar Singh Metro station and the interstate Ballabgarh bus terminal directly with a foot over-bridge. The foot over-bridge is currently under construction.
"A peak hour frequency of six minutes and 48 seconds will be maintained on this section between Badarpur and Raja Nahar Singh on weekdays," the DMRC said. The Violet Line’s span, after the addition, of this elevated section is now 46.6 km and the Delhi Metro Network stands at 317 km.
