Union Home Minister Amit Shah will head over to Chhattisgarh to lead a top-level meeting related to the Naxalite attack in Bastar region of the state that has resulted in the martyrdom of 22 security personnel so far.
Firstly, Shah will pay respects the bravehearts who lost their lives in the recent attacks at the wreath-laying ceremony in the Police Lines.
Later on, he will chair a high-level meeting including the likes of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and other senior state police and central reserve police force (CRPF) officials concerning the left-wing extremism situation at the Police Coordination Centre.
Subsequently, the Home Minister will visit the Basaguda camp in Bijapur to interact with the CRPF and state police personnel stationed there, Times of India reports. Shah will then call on the admitted injured soldiers at three hospitals in Raipur.
The brutal gunfight between Naxals and the security forces between the Jonaguda and Takelguda villages on Saturday resulted in the martyrdom of 22 jawans and injuries to 31. Seven of them belonged to the CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit whereas six others were from the special task force (STF).

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
