Hyderabad Metro is all set to commence operations on the Jubliee Bus Station (JBS)-Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) route from October-November 2019, Rail Analysis has reported.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is currently undertaking electrification works for different stations on the JBS-MGBS route.
After completion, the electric overhead lines would be tested, following which trial runs on the route would begin. The route would then be certified by the Commissioner Metro Rail Safety, so that commercial operations can begin.
It was earlier reported that the metro services would be extended to Raidurg by August, which will make it the second largest metro service in the country. Presently, the Hyderabad metro operates till Hitech City.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
