The Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief B S Dhanoa in a press conference on Monday (4 March) asserted that the Balakot air strike was a success.
As per an ANI report, Dhanoa said that “if we plan to hit the target, we hit the target”, he then rhetorically asked otherwise why would have Imran Khan responded if the IAF would have dropped bombs in the jungle.
Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa on air strikes: The target has been clearly amplified by FS in his statement. If we plan to hit the target, we hit the target, otherwise why would he (Pak PM) have responded, if we dropped bombs in the jungles why would he respond. pic.twitter.com/X4Y0Jdopr6

He also asserted that the IAF will not clarify over the number of casualty figures. He said that the IAF determines if it has hit the required targets and doesn’t count the casualty figures.
Speaking on Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, the IAF Chief said that the pilot’s return to the cockpit would depend on his medical fitness. He also assured that every required treatment would be extended to the Wing Commander.
Over the current situation over at the India-Pakistan border, Dhanoa said that the operations are still ongoing.
He also took on the critics of the MiG-21 Bison by calling it a capable aircraft which has been upgraded with better radar, air-to air missiles and weapons system.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
