In what can be termed as a significant first step towards building an R&D eco system, a Centre of Excellence for unmanned aerial solutions will be set up at the Indian Institute of Technolog in Hyderabad (IIT-H), reports Times of India.
The initiative is part of a tripartite agreement signed between IIT-H and Japan based Terra Drone Corporation and its associate Terra Drone India. The corporation is one of the world’s largest suppliers of industrial drone solutions.
As IIT-H is the first academic institution to offer professional courses in artificial intelligence and related technologies, the campus was selected for the Centre of Excellence. The alliance will facilitate collaborative teaching, training and research activities for the young aspiring minds.
Series of seminars, lectures, workshops in the same regard are supposed to take place in the coming days to leverage cutting edge technologies and drone LiDAR systems. Terra Drone India will also offer internship programmes for IIT-H students.
