IIT Madras Takes Top Spot Again In Education Ministry's 2023 Institute Rankings; IISc Adjudged Best University

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, secured the first position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework, 2023, for the fifth straight year, while the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, was declared the best university, according to the Ministry of Education.
IISc, Bengaluru, ranked second and IIT Delhi third in the "overall" category.
IIT Madras is top among engineering institutions for the eighth year running, with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay ranked second and third.
Miranda House and Hindu College from Delhi University ranked first and second among colleges, with Presidency College, Chennai, following closely.
IISc, Bengaluru, topped in research, while IIT Kanpur took the top spot in innovation.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, is the top management college, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode.
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in Hyderabad is the top-ranked pharmacy school, followed by Jamia Hamdard and BITS Pilani.
The National Law School of India University in Bengaluru, as well as the National Law University in Delhi and NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad, were ranked highly for law.
