India and Bangladesh will release a biopic on ‘Bangabandhu’ Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in March 2022 to commemorate 50 years of Bangladesh's liberation and 75 years of Indian independence from the usurious British Raj, reports Times of India.
The development was shared by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur at a meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart Hasan Mahmud. The two sides also discussed the celebration of Mairti Diwas on upcoming 6 December for which an ‘action plan’ will be drawn up and released soon.
The two Ministers also took up discussions on a host of issues ranging from people-to-people exchanges, the International Film Festival of India and bilateral film production among other things.
It should be noted that Mahmud is the first leader of the Bangladesh Government to travel to India since Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi had visited Dhaka in January earlier this year. During the ongoing visit, he has also held a meeting with Union Minister for External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar. The meeting revolved around media and bilateral cooperation.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
