The delegations of the Indian Army and China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) held discussions yesterday (15 June) along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh region to resolve the ongoing border confrontation between the two nations, reports Hindustan Times.
The talks took place at two different locations along the LAC wherein Brigadier-rank officers from both armies met in the Galwan area, and Colonel-rank officers met in the Hot Springs area. The talks have been said to have gone positive.
The latest meetings came after the fifth meeting between Major-General rank officers of the two armies was held along the LAC last week. This meeting had taken place after the beginning of limited disengagement of the forces at Galwan Valley, Patrolling Point 15 and Hot Springs following a meeting between the commander of Leh based 14 Corps and Major General Liu Lin, commander of the People’s Liberation Army in the South Xinjiang region on 6 June.
India is now said to be working on the resolution of the dispute in the Pangong Tso lake where any disengagement is still to take place and troops from both the armies remain locked ion a tensed face-off.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
