Symbolising the triumph of good over evil, 'Dasara', which is a standout among the most loved festivals in India, gets special importance in the state of Karnataka. Unlike any other place in India, where Dasara is celebrated only for a day, the majestic city of Mysuru in Karnataka has these festivities for ten days. Renowned as Mysuru Dasara, this festival is celebrated in a spectacular manner.
The logistics and itinerary have been laid out for the opening ceremony of this year’s Dasara Festivities. The world famous occasion will be inaugurated at Chamundi Hill between 7.05 am and 7.35 am on October 10 in the auspicious Tula Lagna.
Philanthropist, Chairperson of Infosys Foundation and Padma Shri awardee Sudha Murthy, will inaugurate the Mysuru Dasara of 2018.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara and other ministers will be present.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
