Kanti Prasad the co-owner of Baba Ka Dhaba eatery in Delhi's Malviya Nagar expressed his gratefulness to people for their help and patronage for his eatery which he has been running with his wife since 1990.

Prasad, had narrated his plight over low sales to YouTube channel Swad Official. Fondly referred to as Baba, the 80-year-old Prasad lamented about low sales since the Covid-19 pandemic. In one instance he and his wife had only managed to make sales of Rs 70 till 1.30 PM.

They have to spend at least Rs 400 everyday to prepare their dishes.

Their story soon went viral on social media with many netizens coming together to ensure help and support for the elderly dhaba owners.

Their story was also amplified on twitter, with many appealing to people to support such small street vendors as part of Make-In-India and Vocal For Local initiatives.

As a result, a large number of customers have now started queuing up at his Dhaba. Speaking to ANI, Prasad said that it feels as if whole of India is helping them.

His wife who too runs the Dhaba said that she is extremely grateful and elated at the outpouring of people's support.

She also thanked YouTuber Gaurav Wasan for his continual help - Wasan was the first to highlight their plight. On a sombre note, she also recounted that on quite a few occasions they had to sleep hungry or go without proper meals due to lack of income.

The elderly owners have two sons and a daughter but their kids don't help them financially and the octogenarians have to run the store without much help.
