Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani has said that the company will be making several announcements for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh region soon, reports Asia News International (ANI).
“Responding to the Prime Minister’s appeal, we stand committed to support people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in all their developmental needs,” Ambani said at the 42 RIL Annual General Meeting today (12 August) in Mumbai.
The company will be creating a special task force, and will be making announcements for the newly created Union Territories J&K and Ladakh in the coming months, he added. Last week, the parliament revoked Article 370 that used to give special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
During his address to the nation on 8 August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged companies to invest in two new UTs to increase employment opportunities for locals. Ambani also informed that the company assumed responsibility of the families of CRPF personnel martyred in Pulwama terror attack.
“As a mark of respect to the Pulwama martyrs, we have assumed full responsibility for the education of their children and the livelihood of their families,” Ambani said
