J&K: Four Terrorists Gunned Down By Security Forces In Two Separate Encounters In Kishtwar And Shopian Districts

In a major success for security forces in J&K, four terrorists were killed in two separate encounters in Kishtwar and Shopian districts of the union territory.

Two terrorists were killed on Friday (17 April) in a gunfight with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.

Police said both slain terrorists were locals. They had attacked a police party in Dachan area with axes and decamped with two service rifles on Monday (13 April). One policeman had died in that attack and another was injured.

“Two terrorists killed in an encounter in Dachan area of Kishtwar. Police, Army and CRPF forces were deployed in the difficult terrain on a tip-off. Two weapons have been recovered from the killed terrorists,” IG Police, Jammu, said in a tweet.

J&K police with the assistance of the army had launched a manhunt in the hilly Dachan area of Kishtwar district since the attack to trace the assailants of the police party that was attacked on Monday (13 April).

Meanwhile, in another encounter in J&K’s Shopian district on Friday, the security forces gunned down two terrorists. The identity of the slain terrorists is yet to be ascertained.

The terrorists were neutralised by the security forces in the Dairoo village of Shopian district.
