On Wednesday (31 July), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informened a Delhi Court in reference to the high profile AugustaWestland VVIP chopper scam, that Ratul Puri, who is the nephew of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Kamal Nath is threatening the witnesses in the case, reports Indian Express.
ED informed the court, "Puri is threatening the witnesses. People are scared of him. There are various witnesses who allege Puri is pressuring them." The police also raised the point about Puri's non-cooperation with the agency's investigations.
The ED made the claim against Puri, while seeking his custodial interrogation. The plea was made before special judge Arvind Kumar during the hearing of an anticipatory bail application filed by Puri before the court.
However, as the arguments from both ends could not come to a conclusion, the court extended Puri's interim protection from arrest till Thursday.
