Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar tested positive for the coronavirus, an official said on Tuesday (25 August).
"Shivakumar has been admitted in a private hospital in the city's northwest suburb after he tested Covid positive earlier in the day," a party official told IANS in Bengaluru.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, opposition leader Siddaramaiah, Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader H D Kumaraswamy and scores of other leaders wished Shivakumar a speedy recovery and early return to home from the hospital.
Scores of politicians, including Yediyurappa, Siddaramaiah, state cabinet ministers B R Sriramulu, S T Somashekar, Anand Singh and C T Ravi, Lok Sabha members, MLAs and MLCs tested positive and recovered from the infection during the last 2 months.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
