Two CRPF jawans were martyred and three others injured in a terror attack in Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday (12 July). A police station house officer (SHO) too has suffered serious injuries, one terrorist has been neutralised so far, ANI has reported.
As per journalist Shiv Aroor, the attack was a suicide bombing, hence it isn’t yet clear whether the neutralised terrorist is the same as the suicide bomber.
Following the terror attack, Indian armed forces have launched retaliatory firing in the area.
This attack comes around four months after the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 brave CRPF Jawans lost their lives. This terror attack prompted a national outcry following which the Narendra Modi led Central government ordered air strikes on a major Jaish-e-Mohammed terror facility in Pakistan’s Balakot.
