On Thursday (7 February), union minister of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) , Prakash Javadekar hailed Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) and Navodaya Vidayalaya (NV) as the role-models for government school system in India, reports Times of India.
Javadekar was addressing the valedictory session of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan-Navodaya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS-NVS) National Principals' Conference. He said, “ teaching should become a profession of choice and not the last option, that is why we are introducing four-year integrated B.Ed course in the coming academic year.”
For Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan’s Swastha Bachche -- Swachh Bharat Programme, the minister launched an app FitKVian, which will capture real time data and facilitate fitness assessment of over 2.7 lakh children across 1,199 KVs across the country. It will have interface for difference stakeholders, including the school, parents, KVS headquarter.
“Teachers should be passionate about their profession. Teachers are the sculptors of the future of the country,” said Prakash Javadekar.
