Leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were attacked at their homes in Kerala’s Payyanur assembly constituency falling under Kasaragod Lok Sabha constituency on Monday (13 May), reports Dajiworld.
Former Payyanur Mandal BJP secretary Panakkil Balakrishnan who hails from Payyanur Korom was attacked with a country made bomb which was tossed at his home. The bomb exploded but the residents escaped unhurt.
RSS worker from Korom, Kareyil Rajesh was also attacked with two bombs which were thrown at his house, but fell near a minor bridge on the road and no one was reported injured.
Rajesh was similarly attacked in the past when bombs were hurled at his house and it was also torched.
Recently, the BJP candidate from Kasaragod was reportedly assaulted by CPM and DYFI goons who objected to his political campaigning.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
