Sister Lucy Kalapura who was recently expelled by the Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) on grounds of “serious indiscipline” has been ordered by the convent to withdraw case against her senior and apologise if she wants to return back, Hindustan Times has reported.
The nun who spearheaded against rape accused bishop Franco Mulakkal and also deposed against him had recently accused her senior of locking her in a room. She also claimed that the Church’s PR team had circulated a defamatory video against her on social media.
The convent in a letter issued on Saturday (25 August) claimed that action was taken against Sister Lucy on disciplinary grounds and insisted that if she wishes to continue with the convent she needs to follow its rules in letter and spirit.
The nun in response has refused to apologise to the convent and claimed that the organisation was indulging in blackmail.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
