A Kerala man aged 48, who went missing in Abu Dhabi, reportedly to join the Islamic State, is said to have died in a Pakistani prison.
Official sources say Zulfikar's body will be handed over to the Home Ministry at the Attari border.
Zulfikar hails from Kappur in Palakkad district. It is believed that he left Kerala in 2018 to join the Islamic State.
After he recently went missing from Abu Dhabi, intelligence agencies began investigating his disappearance.
It is said that he moved to Iran before being imprisoned in Pakistan, according to official sources, as reported by The Indian Express.
The case is currently under investigation.
Zulfikar's family reportedly does not want to receive his body, likely to be brought to Palakkad, as he allegedly joined the Islamic State.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
