Madhya Pradesh: Man Caught Stealing Peacocks Beaten To Death By Villagers

A man called Heera Lal died after being beaten up by a group of villagers for allegedly stealing a peacock in Lasuria vilage of Madhya Pradesh (MP) on Saturday (20 July), reports Deccan Herald.

The incident took place after nine-ten villagers allegedly caught Heera Lal along with three others stealing a peacock. While other fled the scene, the villagers caught Heera Lal and assaulted him causing serious injuries.

As the information reached the police, the Station House Officer (SHO) along with other policemen reached the crime scene and took Heera Lal away. As per ASP R K Mishra, Heera Lal later succumbed to the injuries in the hospital.

A case has been lodged against the accused persons under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and SC/ST Act and all the accused named in the FIR have been arrested.
