The Bihar police have reportedly identified and arrested the culprit behind the disturbing act of forcibly kissing a stranger woman in public last week.
CCTV footage had emerged of the man forcibly kissing a sari-clad woman who was standing near a hospital and talking to someone else on her phone.
The man had jumped off a wall to grab her. The incident took place on 10 March near Sadar Hospital in Bihar’s Jamui district.
The woman, a health worker at the hospital, later filed a complaint against the unidentified man at the Jamui police station.
Today (20 March), several news publications reported that the police have arrested the main culprit and busted a gang that was behind several such incidents in the state. The police say that the gang, comprising three-four people, indulges in theft and robbery in the nights.
As per news reports, the man in the viral video is Mohammed Akram, a resident of Mahisouri area of Jamui and a leader of the said gang. The police say that other women who were victims of such molestation did not file a police complaint fearing social shame.
