In the spirit of the ever-deepening ties between India and the nation of Israel, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Sunday (17 May) congratulated his counterpart PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his rival-turned-partner Benny Gantz on the formation of their alliance Government, reports WION.
Lauding PM Netanyahu over his success information of a Government in Israel for the fifth time, PM Modi underscored that the Indian Government looks forward to continue working closely with the Government in Israel to further bolster the strategic relationship shared between the two nations.
Mazel Tov my friend @netanyahu for forming your fifth government in Israel. I wish you and @gantzbe success and look forward to continue working closely with your government to further strengthen India-Israel strategic partnership.

The development in Israel comes as an end of a long phase of political uncertainty in Israel. Under the new Government, Gantz will take up the chair of PM Netanyahu and lead Israel after 18 months on 17 November 2021.
Until that happens, Israel will see Gantz serving the nation in the capacity of Defence Minister with the title of Alternate PM. And once he would take up the PM's post, incumbent PM Netanyahu would be accorded the title of Alternate PM as per the power-sharing deal.
