In a joint rally in Pallakad constituency of poll-bound Kerala on Tuesday (30 March), E Sreedharan, famously known as Metro Man, said that he has drawn up a master plan for this[Pallakad] constituency.
He said that the plan included a round-the-clock water supply, an efficient solid waste management system and green cover for the area said a report by Times of India.
“I also want to have green cover for the area by planting 25 lakh trees in next 5 years,” said Sreedharan.
Sreedharan also took to Twitter to praise the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for its contribution to the education sector.
“After NDA came to power at the Centre, more IITs have been built, education sector has improved overall. NDA govt is working towards making the medical and technical skills available in local languages,” tweeted the Metro Man.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the rally and said that the Left democratic front, LDF, has betrayed the people of Kerala for few pieces of gold, just like Judas betrayed Lord Christ for a few pieces of silver.
"For many years, the worst kept secret of Kerala politics was the friendly agreement of UDF and LDF. Now, the first-time voter of Kerala is asking — what is this match-fixing? People are seeing how UDF & LDF misled them", Modi added.
Saying that Sreedharan has devoted his life to the progress of Kerala, Modi said that "the time has come for FAST development in Kerala- F for fisheries and fertilisers, A for agriculture and Ayurveda, S for skill development and social justice and T for tourism and technology."
Polling for assembly elections in Kerala is scheduled for next week.
