Members from a Muslim family have converted to Hinduism in Badarka village of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh, ANI has reported.
On Monday (1 October), the Muslim family which has 20 members, converted to Hindu religion citing the reason as not getting justice for their family member’s death.
Family members said that gross injustice was meted out to them in a case of an alleged murder of one of their family member. According to the family members, some men belonging to Muslim community allegedly murdered one of their family members.
The family members claimed that no one from the 3,000 people of Muslim community present there came forward to help them when the murder happened. All the family members, thus, decided to convert to Hinduism in hopes of getting justice.
They also claimed that when the victim’s body was sent for the postmortem, police came out with a report of suicide which was contrary to what they have claimed.
The family, on 1 October, submitted affidavits for registration of their conversions to the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of Baraut district.
Members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have said that on 2 October, the family will be converted to Hinduism with all religious customs and rituals in their village. A hawan will also be performed by the members of VHP in the village.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
