In yet another incident in which minorities in the country have been targeted, a 13-year-old Hindu girl was raped in Sindh province’s Tando Mohammad Khan district by two men, reports The Times of India.
The men who were identified as the attackers by the victim have been taken into custody by authorities after the girl’s father filed an FIR. The victim was on her way to pick up groceries for her family when she was stopped and forced to drink alcohol by the two men, who then proceeded to rape her.
Following the incident, she was rushed to the hospital, after which authorities were informed. DNA samples of the victim as well as the two accused have been taken are in being used in the investigation.
The country’s first Hindu Dalit woman to be a senator, Krishna Kohli, said that the girl remained in a critical condition and the it is possible that the accused persons raped her continuously during the period of abduction.
