An Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) spy was arrested from a research wing that houses sensitive information on the BrahMos missile in Maharashtra's Nagpur, reports Times Now.
A joint operation conducted by the Uttar Pradesh police and Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad arrested the spy, identified as Nishant Agarwal.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) facility from which the spy was arrested, manufactures propellents, or fuel, for the BrahMos missile. The BrahMos is a medium-range supersonic missile that can be fired from submarines, ships, aircraft or land. The fact that it is the fastest cruise missile in the world makes the arrest even more critical.
Police sources suggest the possibility of Agarwal having access to sensitive information on India's missile systems. The local police had no clue about the presence of the person in the facility, and neither did the ATS team gave prior information to them about the investigation. The details on Agarwal's connections and his modus operandi are being probed.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
