Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin the election campaigning for the October Assembly polls in Haryana on 8 September at Rohtak, where he is expected to address around 3 lakh ‘panna pramukhs’ (in-charge of voter list pages), reports The Tribune.
According to the report, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying hard to make PM Modi’s Vijay Sankalp Rally a massive show of strength by ensuring the presence of the ‘panna pramukhs’, who played a key role in the party winning 10 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
The rally of PM Modi will be organised as the grand finale of the 22-day-long Jan Aashirwad Yatra currently being undertaken by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
“The plan to register over 3 lakh ‘panna pramukhs’ spread over 19,500 polling booths has been chalked out and it would be ensured that all those registered attend the rally,” said Ved Pal, BJP’s state general secretary.
BJP’s central as well as state leaders are keeping a tab on the arrangements for the rally. The party has planned to register and formally invite the ‘panna pramukhs’ through its district functionaries as well as prominent leaders from 1 September.
As per the report, the schedule for the Assembly elections is likely to be announced by the Election Commission in the second week of September.
