Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme for visiting Shri Kedarnath has been finalised. After visiting the shrine of Lord Mahadev on 7 November, Modi will inspect the reconstruction work going in and around the temple premise, Jagran has reported.

According to the report, Prime Minister could also visit an army post in Uttarakhand along the Chinese border to boost morale of the soldiers. However, there is no official confirmation on this.

Earlier, there were doubts about Prime Minister’s visit to the shrine in view of the Model Code of Conduct currently in force in the state due to the upcoming local bodies elections.

Bharatiya Janata Party state media cell head Devendra Bhasin confirmed that Prime Minister, on 7 November, will arrive at Jollygrant airport in Dehradun from where he will proceed to Kedarnath.

In Kedarnath, Prime Minister will take part in Pooja at the temple after which he will inspect the progress of the reconstruction work at the shrine and then return to Delhi, Bhasin said.

Jagran, however, quoting the sources has reported that Prime Minister could either visit one of the Indian army’s border post along the China border in the state or spend some time with Jawans at army’s Joshimath camp.
