Prasar Bharati and Google have decided to team up to live stream Lok Sabha and state assembly election results on YouTube, reports The New Indian Express.
“What is going to happen is whenever anybody accesses YouTube from anywhere in India either through the website of Youtube or through the YouTube App, the first thing that they will see on top will be a news stream from DD News updating the results," Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati said.
"It will be a sort of a landing screen. Once you click on that, it will be a live YouTube channel of DD news. Apart from that, the window will also have the option of live stream of 14 other DD regional stations of different languages," elaborated Vempati.
Vempati further said that such a move could help avoid the initial chaos and wrong reporting in the first two to three hours of counting by ensuring the source remains the most authentic in India.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
