Properties linked to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA C M Ramesh and his partner have been raided by the Income Tax (IT) Department today (12 October), reports ANI.
Almost 60 IT officials conducted the raids at several premises at Kadapa. They also raided an office of a company owned by Ramesh's relatives and Rithwik Projects Pvt Limited, a company, promoted by him and his partners' residences.
Ramesh, being a member of the Public Accounts Committee, had earlier issued a notice asking for the details about the raids being conducted on TDP leaders in the state. Interestingly, three days after the notice was issued, the IT department conducted raids at his residence and offices.
Blaming Centre for the vendetta-driven raids, Ramesh speaking to the media said, “A clear-cut case of political vendetta, Centre has been targeting our leaders from last 15 days. The same thing happened in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal and now Andhra Pradesh, whoever is opposing them is being targeted,".

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
