Parents have always wanted their children to surpass them and pray for their excellence. And this is one story that has turned prayers into reality. In Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, a constable’s son has become an Indian Police Service Officer. The father, Janardan Singh, posted at Vibhuti Kand police station, has said that he was proud to have his son, Anup Kumar Singh, as his boss and will salute him like he salutes any other senior officer. Anup Kumar is now SP (North), Lucknow.

The son said that they can distinguish between their personal and professional relationships and can deliver what is expected from them. He also added that all types of services involving uniforms have the trend of saluting, with the response also being a salute. He said that this custom, which has been followed for ages, will continue to be followed.

His proud father said that he never expected his son to become an IPS officer, but since he has done it now, he would be pleased to work under his son. “If I can salute any officer, I will salute my son as well. He was always a well-disciplined child and never demanded anything from us,” the proud father added, reported TNN.
