Punjab Chief Minister and Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh said yesterday that political strategist Prashant Kishor has been hired to work for the party purportedly for the 2022 Assembly elections.
“Prashant Kishor has joined me as my Principal Advisor. I look forward to working together for the betterment of the people of Punjab,” Singh was quoted as saying by ANI.
The Punjab Cabinet also cleared the appointment of Kishor as the principal advisor to the chief minister in the rank and status of a Cabinet Minister.
Kishor was the election strategist for Aam Aadmi Party in 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly election.
He is currently an advisor for Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) and for M K Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for the 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu respectively.
