Despite appeals by the Karnataka assembly speaker K R Ramesh Kumar, senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar looked in no mood to conclude proceedings today and alleged that the rebel Congress-JD(S) MLAs wish to come back but are being held back at gunpoint.

Shivakumar also alleged that the rebel MLAs who are his friends are being threatened against coming back, a charge which was then rebuffed by the assembly speaker. The speaker Ramesh Kumar responded by stating that none of the rebels have appraised him about the supposed threats.

While the Congress-JD(S) MLAs appear to be pulling every trick out of the hat to delay proceedings, the speaker stressed that the proceedings should be completed by 7.30 PM today as he needs to tend to other matters later.
