Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has purchased Britain’s renowned country club and luxury golf resort Stoke Park for a sum of around Rs 592 crore.
The UK-based firm possesses and manages sporting and leisure amenities in Stoke Poges that is situated in Buckinghamshire in the United Kingdom (UK).
The entire facility hosts hotel, conference, sporting services as well as one of the topmost golf courses in the entire Europe.
As many as 49 luxury bedrooms and suites, 27-hole golf courses, 13 tennis courts and a massive 14 acres of private gardens are situated in the entire Stoke Park estate.
“Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Ltd (RIIHL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has on April 22, 2021, acquired the entire issued share capital of Stoke Park Limited, a company incorporated in the United Kingdom, for 57 million pounds,” an official release from the Stoke Park Limited was quoted by the Times of India.
On the other hand, Reliance revealed that the RIIHL will upgrade the sports and leisure facilities at this heritage site and will also simultaneously adhere to the guidelines related to planning and also the local regulations.
Reliance has completed multiple acquisitions worth $3.3 billion in the last four years.
80 per cent of these takeovers have been in the technology, media and telecom (TMT) sector whereas almost 6 per cent of the same has been in the energy sector.
In the hospitality division, Reliance already has investments in the Oberoi Hotels and is also building state-of-the-art convention centre, residences and hotels in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) of Mumbai.
