Indian motorcycle manufacturing brand Royal Enfield on Tuesday (7 May) has announced the recall of 7000 units of Bullet and Bullet Electra over faulty brake caliper bolt. The bikes manufactured between 20 March 2019 and 30 April 2019 are said to have been fitted with a defective braking system.
The company has to decided to go for a service intervention to replace the brake caliper bolts as voluntary service action, reports Livemint.
The company in a statement said, “This is because service investigations revealed that the torque maintained on brake caliper bolts, as supplied by the vendor, on a few of these motorcycles were not as per stringent Royal Enfield quality standards.”
Brake caliper bolt is an essential part of the braking system, securing the brake caliper and the hose.
The company did a similar recall of its Himalayan adventure bike in 2016 over the coarse engine and high tappet noise, replacing the faulty rocker unit with new ones.
The Royal Enfield Bullet holds the distinction of having the longest unchanged production run among motorcycles, having been continuously produced since 1948.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
