Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) leader M M Lawrence’s grandson Milan Lawrence Immanuel was found expressing his support to the protest staged against the police in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The state unit of BJP has been protesting against the violence against those protesting the Supreme Court’s judgement on the Sabarimala issue.
Kerala BJP president P S Sreedharan Pillai told the press that it was Milan’s mother who brought him to the protest. It has raised several eyebrows since his grandfather is one of the veterans of the CPM. Tensions are running high in the state over the issue.
Addressing the media, Milan said that he attend the strike to express his support. He clarified that the decision was a personal one, and his family had no objections to him attending it, Mathrubhumi reported.
State BJP unit has issued instructions to its party cadre across Kerala to carry out protests in all the districts of the state while staging a one-day hunger strike in front of the office of the DGP in Thiruvananthapuram.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
