The second edition of 2+2 ministerial dialogue between India and the US will be held in Washington DC on 18 December, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday (12 December).
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation.
"They will meet their US counterparts for comprehensive review of cross cutting foreign policy and defence and security issues in Indo-US relationship. In addition, both sides will exchange views on several regional and global issues," said Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.
The 2+2 ministerial dialogue was initiated in September 2018 in order to provide a positive, forward looking vision for the Indo-US strategic partnership and to promote synergy in diplomatic and security efforts.
Since the inaugural edition of the dialogues, relationship between the US and India has further expanded.
"The 2+2 dialogue will take stock of the growing relation between the two countries and provide strategic guidance for further development of the relationship," said Kumar.
